He will meet with President Raul Castro

LA PAZ, Bolivia, Wednesday, May 21st, 2008 (EDTA) – Today, Government official spokesman, Ivan Canelas, told local press President Evo Morales is expected to meet Wednesday with Cuban President Raul Castro as well as with his older brother Fidel.

Likewise, Cuban Granma newspaper reported that Evo Morales Ayma is to arrive in La Havana Wednesday afternoon on a working visit.

La Paz, May 13 (PL/BOLIVIA) The National Election Commission (CNE) of Bolivia began to arrange the recall referendum of the president, vice president and eight mayors.

After President Evo Morales announced the referendum law, the CNE began to work on the program approved by unanimous vote.

According to the timetable, registry will run from May 19 to June 1st, while information drive will start May 19 and six days later the list will be released on the media with license to issue election propaganda.

United Nations, May 9 (Bolivia/PL) UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon declared that he was closely following events in Bolivia and backed calls of the Organization of American States to achieve a consensus between the Government and opposition.

In a declaration released by a spokesperson from his office the UN chief praised diplomatic efforts by the OAS.

The declaration by Ban occurred after an electoral consultation in Santa Cruz that the government considered illegal.

La Paz, May 9 (PL/Bolivia) The Bolivian government condemned Friday the US announcement that warships will set sail on Latin American and Caribbean waters as of July 1 and termed it an insult to regional sovereignty.

According to Deputy Social Defense Minister Felipe Caceres, the aim is not to foster confidence among nations through security efforts, as US Navy operations chief Gary Roughead stated.
